Rajma Masala (Spice Mix)

Our family eats a lot of rajma (a dish made of red or dark navy beans, from the Punjab region of India).  This is the spice mix that we use to create the one pot version of the dish.

Rajma Masala Blend

1 part turmeric
3 parts red chili powder
2 parts coriander powder
2 parts cumin powder
1 part garam masala

Place all ingredients in an airtight glass or stainless steel container (plastic containers will become stained with the turmeric and chili powders) and shake until well blended.  Store in a cool, dark place.

That’s it.  It’s that easy.
