Lassis are yogourt based smoothies, perfect for cooling off on hot days. One of my favourites is mango lassi because mango. How do you go wrong with that?
This is a refreshing drink which also helps us get enough calcium and protein in our diets, thanks to the yogourt, though we are careful to watch our sugar intake generally so lassis are not an everyday treat.
1 cup chopped mango (you can use frozen)
1 cup full fat yogourt
2 or 3 strands saffron
1 tablespoon honey
Put all ingredients in a blender and puree for about 2 minutes.
You can swap out the mango for peach, nectarine, guava or any other dense fruit of your choosing in this recipe. You can also use frozen fruit, which will give a colder, thicker lassi.
